"No matter what anyone thinks, I'll always support you"

Family

Those are the kind words of my older brother.

To be honest, I've gotten used to hearing anything else but that from people that it always takes me aback everytime I get the chance to meet up with him.

"You're not stupid."

"I believe that you'll do best."

"I know you can do it, don't be harsh on yourself."

He's always been the one person I could talk to about my feelings, about life, about anything. Above anyone else, he'd always be the one to take me seriously and acknowledge my problems in life. I've always been like him, and everyone tends to say that we're both very similar, and I think It's quite true. He has always been my role model after all.

Not my mother, not my father.

He's the one who made me who I am today. The one who gave me courage to continue on as a person with a good attitude and an open mind.

I'm so used to insults, so used to people looking down on me.

But he's never been harsh on me.

And do you know how it feels, to be treated with such kindness after an endless series of heartaches?

It feels unreal, like some sick joke, yet it isn't.

It's like a different world.

To actually be treated like a person with feelings, like a person with opinions and thoughts.

I cling onto his kind words and I keep it as my source of motivation.

Because even if the rest of the world gives up on me, or hates me, or thinks lowly of me without even knowing me,

I know that he'll be there.

And that faith, that support from one person is enough for me.

And I'll show all the fucking bastards around me that I'm not the fucking idiot they think I am.

They'll be wide-eyed and gawking.

But I know he'll be smiling, because he's always believed in me.

And I'll prove to him that his faith meant the world to me.
