Did anyone else think ghat Doc's prediction was right when he said that Jerry Lewis and several other people would be government officials?

I mean the scene where doc is flabbergasted at Ronald Reagan being president.

"The actor?!? Then who's vice president? Jerry Lewis?"

"I suppose Jane Wyman is the First Lady"

"And Jack Benny is secretary of the treasury"

I live outside the US, didnt know much about politics, also no internet. At the time I thought that the gag was that Doc was actually right and Jerry Lewis really was the Vice President, Jane Wyman was First Lady etc

Imagine my disappointment when I learned it wasnt true lol.
