New Goodies!
Here's to my first post here! I recently got some new serious storage for my homelab. The Precision 7820 runs TrueNAS Scale to host files for my wedding photography business (I had bad luck with unRAID deleting photos randomly last year) and the Dell micros both run ESXi for VMs. Averaging about 130W on idle with everything running. Let me know what you guys think! I was considering running R730s for this but was somewhat concerned about it being loud (this is in my living room) and double the power usage. As of now, everything except the 7050 micro is barely audible when the room is dead silent. I'll leave my specs below.
Also, do any of you guys have a recommendation for routers? I've been looking at the ER-X but I'm not sure if there are other options without going towards pFSense. Thanks!

I would stay away from the edge router x
Go with something else.
Perfect, thanks!
Can you say more about the security being theater?
It’s an unsubstantiated claim that a lot of the security isn’t configurable and seems to focus on blocking automated attacks; it also doesn’t seem to warn you about doing stupid things which is usually how the badies end up pulling your trousers down and ruining your day. It’s not a criticism of anything except the enterprise badges.
Sorry my late diner sucked yesterday and I was grumpy 😅
I'm not offended or anything just curious. We're you talking about a specific product or all network security in general?
Lol I want to know as I'm setting up a new router firewall at home and I'm not a network person.
