Career advice needed, healthcare burnout.
33M. I've worked in healthcare for over ten years now. Youth work, disability and age care. Most recently "currently" self employed private home care. I haven't worked since July. I was doing 50 hours a week taking care of an extremely volatile and aggressive woman suffering from dementia. When the family reached their breaking point and put her into permanent care I just stopped. I spent a month of so sick/ recovering from covid i caught not long afterwards. I spent another month having a holiday but when it came time to get back out there I was extremely off put by it, minor panic attacks, general apathy and honestly I'm just sick of caring for other people which is not the right attitude. I wasted a few months just not being able to bring myself to take on more work even when it was handed to me on a platter. I've spoken with some people, did some therapy but I believe I'm just done and ready for a change.
I've started considering other options but so far all I've done is crossed off things I don't want. I don't want to study, work in the sun, or deal with sales. With those in mind knowing my options are limited to lower income options I thought about what I could trade for increased income.
You hear in movies and shows about people who have to constantly be staying in motels on the road, work in risky situations, do disgusting or unpleasant things / be in those environments.
I have no ties to where I live currently. No commitments. Not having children ever. Is there a way I can capitalise on the above to find a new job or career that still pays well? Can anyone make any suggestions or recommendations?
Sorry for the long post and any errors, 6.47am and I've been up all night once again searching fruitlessly on seek and stressing about what to do. Thanks in advance for any responses.
