Employer appealed?

I received a letter in the mail from the CUIAB telling me that my previous employer appealed my unemployment benefits. I know I should expect a 6-8 month wait. In regards to that site that they told me to sign up at. Is that all the evidence that the employer has submitted? Can I use an ongoing case that they have as evidence and if so do I upload it to that website? Other than that most of my arguments would be hearsay which I'm kind of scared since I don't know if that's enough. Does anyone recommend any lawyers that can help prepare me for this? Also since this is in California and it's in person is something casual okay to wear?
