Is MBA M2 with 8GB RAM enough for programming?

As the title says, I want to buy a new MBA with the M2 cpu, because I've sold my old laptop, and now I have a great deal(1100$, in my country it normally costs somewhere to 1500$) for this one. For now, I'm learning Web Dev, so I will use VS Code, 5-10 pages in safari, the terminal and maybe that's all. As I advance I will want to try learning other programming languages(C++/Python) and continue with projects and working at the job with it. I saw many YouTube videos where people said it's mandatory to buy the 16gb version, but others say they work at big tech companies and use the base version to develop software. Right now I need you opinions, before telling me the 16 gb it's better, and I know this, I want to hear from you, developers out there, if you have this device and if you can get the work done
