How hard is it to switch from undergrad acceptance to grad?
Hi, all!
I just recently graduated from my university with my Bachelor's in Social Work this past December. In November-ish I applied for advanced placement for my Master's program. Right off the bat, I had issues with the school's recruitment in that they were difficult to communicate with and bounced me around three different people for the simple issue of needing my TSI scores waived. During this time, someone had mentioned that I was showing as an undergrad student, and, naturally, I was very like "Why does it say this and how do we get this fixed?" This was literally in October. After being bounced around again they told me that all I needed to do was submit my final transcripts after my final semester. I even made sure to distinctly say in the email "I am meant to be a graduate student in advanced placement - What do I need to do to make sure I am on track?"
Fast forward to the end of last month, I have sent in my transcript showing my Bachelor's completion and am thinking I'm ready to register for classes. However, when I go to make an appointment with my advisor, they tell me I am showing as an undergrad student. You can imagine how anxious this made me - I am not a last-minute person. I immediately emailed the recruitment/advising office to see what is going on. Everyone just keeps telling me the same thing "you show as an undergraduate" and I reply "this is what I should be - how do I fix it?" they send me to another person and that person again tells me I show as an undergraduate. No more information, no action steps, and not even a reason why it's saying this. So I am just guessing at this point and panicking - "did I select the right drop-down in my application?" I am a human and first-gen student, so maybe I did make the mistake of applying as an undergraduate instead of a graduate. I honestly don't believe that I did but no one is really responding to my texts or phone calls, classes start NEXT WEEK and I am kind of in an anxious spiral LOL.
So, my question is, how hard would it be to switch my application from an undergrad to a grad after I have already been accepted?
And if you don't know the answer - any advice would also be good! Is this my sign to drop out...? (joking)
