Which of these M4s is better (more sturdy/reliable, more easily upgradeable, etc.)?

I just got into airsoft recently, so please excuse the lack of knowledge. I got my first gun in an Amped Airsoft mystery box - it's a Tippmann M4 CQB AEG. I took this to my local arena and had a ton of fun.

Earlier this week, I got an Evike Box of Awesomeness, and it came with another AEG M4 - this time, a Colt Licensed M4 CQB-R.

I don't want/need 2 M4s so I listed the Colt on r/airsoftmarket, but now I'm wondering which is better? Which one should I keep? Price doesn't always mean everything, but the Colt is a little more expensive (the Tippmann was $140 and came with a battery, charger, and mag; the Colt is $178 for the same bundle). I'm sure I could also get more money for the Colt since it's unopened and brand new, but am I better off keeping it and taking more of a loss on the Tippmann one?

Any opinions are welcome!

So probably not going to be a ton of difference. If they are both plastic then the colt may be slightly easier to find more parts for as it is most likely made by a company doing airsoft for longer. No hate here for Tippmann, but they haven’t been doing airsoft as long and I’ve already run across some odd design choices with their HPA Tippmann. Again though you’re most likely not going to see huge differences until you move up in price a bit more towards things like metal guns or ones with mosfet units.

That makes a lot of sense. They're both entry-level AEGs and I see myself getting something better down the line and/or upgrading internals in one of these.

I hear a lot of people saying the Colt is crap, but that might just be salty base box mystery box winners

Yea exactly figure if you like playing you’ll fairly quickly want something nicer. Maybe full metal or just overall better known internal quality. Or come to the dark side that is gbbr lol.

Howdy! From your post, it seems you mentioned upgrading. We've a lovely set of upgrade guides available if you plan on upgrading your current platform! Here's a V2 gearbox guide (the information needed for upgrading any AEG version gearbox should also be very similar, albeit with version-specific parts), along with an inner barrel guide, bucking guide, HPA guide, Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle guide, DMR guide all set up for questions just like this; for GBBs, try the searchbar for build lists. If your question is unrelated to modification, please let a mod know via modmail if you want the comment removed!
