Vertical Foregrip to Angled Foregrip

I've noticed the SMUs and the Ranger Regiment and just SOCOM in general all use angled grips now in all the recent photos I've seen of them and almost never vertical grips. Was there a reason that the vertical foregrip is not used as much anymore?
