It's a vanilla!
Horn of Valhalla is pretty much superior in every way to this.
No, not really.
This costs 1cmc less to have it attached the first time. (4cmc vs 5cmc)
This creates a 2/2 body, so it doesn't require you to have already played a creature and it's giving you 2/2 more of stats for less cost.
Did you miss that Horn of Vallaha has a whole second card stapled to it? The flexibility to create a field to ensure the pump effect is stronger, or a cheaper cast if you already have a field puts horn far above Kemba's banner.
I know what the horn does. It's more flexible and better in certain situations, but not always better. Being able to play this, and essentially attack with it, a turn earlier is a huge advantage in many situations.
If you want to get that granular with it, you can attack earlier with horn. Assuming no ramp, T1 creature, T2 horn, T3 equip swing.
Kemba's banner is T5 no matter what. T4 Banner, you cant swing, nor equip it to something else.
So, im not sure what exactly you mean by attacking earlier.
It's a commander card for an equipment deck. Just play both, you surely have enough space.
Pennon Blade with a free 2/2 attached probably should've been on my bingo card, in retrospect.
Aw man, that brings me back. I think I used to run that in my Krenko deck.
