I had a 120mm Whyte hardtail 11 years ago slacker than this bike, and that was marketed as a xc/trailbike

Looks like a poorly spec’d XC bike with poorly applied marketing.

SX drivetrain belongs nowhere but the trash, and 68.5HTA is straight XC. Slack it out a little more to 66.5-67*, put a forekaster MaxxTerra up front and a rekon out back with NX and I can begin to take it seriously with that name.

And before anyone starts in, I don’t have a problem with the downcountry moniker, it’s just a way to classify a bike is all.
