How, in a 20 week semester, can I get disadvantaged high school kids who aren’t reading on or near grade level to pass one of the hardest subject-specific standardized tests in my state?

Teacher Support &/or Advice

I can’t do it, pass rate statewide is 40%. I gave them 37% with disadvantaged kids. They want 70%! I can’t do it.

It’s not your responsibility. You do the best you can. Teach them good test taking skills. Then breathe,

It’s been made clear to me by admin that it is absolutely my responsibility

Well, tell them when the children live with you, you feed them, make sure they have all emotional needs met, and help them study at night, you’ll be responsible. Try to look for a new job.
