2014 DPS6 Replacement

About a year ago, I had the clutch redone in my 2014 focus (with the faulty dps6 powershift automatic transmission) everything was mostly fine afterwards...no shuddering or issues shifting. But there was a whining noise in 4th gear. But the mechanic told me not to worry about it so I kept driving it. A couple days ago on the freeway my car came to a very grinding halt. Wheels were completely locked up even in neutral. Transmission is completely shot at 98k miles.

I am probably going to just replace the transmission and keep driving it because I am not in a position to buy a new car at the moment. For those who have replaced this transmission: does the new revision of this transmission actually fix the problem or should I try to get rid of the car as soon as I can? If the new revision of the dps6 fixes all the problems then I guess I'll just keep driving the car, but if it will prematurely fail again then I don't want to keep it.

Also, what should I reasonably expect to pay for a transmission replacement on this car?
