You're right for once.
With the number of players and vehicles in 128p the buildings get destroyed really fast, which means no cover from vehicles and helicopters. More a gameplay problem than a performance problem, imo.
That's why the infamous big hangars on the 128p maps can not be fully destroyed.

The problem is....these are updated MAPS from previous BFs that already had this destruction.
The only location that is close to these maps are the concrete villages on Hourglass.
Also there is some decent destruction on Discarded map. That small village to the north.
Yeah it’s shocking that they’d have access to this level of destruction and not find more ways to integrate it in more areas of the main maps.
Its actually alarming that they chose to not implement it in the new maps.
Being that we have old ass maps in Portal that have better destruction then ANY new maps is tragic. I still like the game but sheesh did they drop the ball.
2042 does indeed have destruction but it is used and in areas that are heads cratchers. Take the Discarded map. There is a small structure near the first flag to the west of the map. The whole structure can almost be taken out like you see in this video.
The problem is that structure is not located in an area that is getting much traffic. It is like they did not put any effort into putting buildings like this in area that are bound to have more fighting.
When I play Conquest Exodus I just love playing maps like Valporasio and Arica Harbor....destruction on point and the maps just play well.
It feels like they are squandering technology they have - other FPS titles would kill to have access to this sort of tech I’d imagine. They have it all built already and they just…. Build large open industrial buildings with very limited destruction.
And shopping containers.
So many shipping containers.
Play portal. There are servers like "=bf3 remastered= (on the best bf3/bc3 maps)"
They are super fun
