Batarian Soldier for dummies

So I got about 7 minutes to spare, so I thought i'd make a quick little "guide" on how to play the Batarian Soldier, because apparently people don't know how to play him properly. Anyway, I'll probably make more of these "guides" for classes, like the Vorcha, Batsent, Tsent and others some other day, for now lets talk about the Batsol.

build. 6/5/6/3/6 or 6/0/6/6/6 also work well. For some reason the site doesn't like me or something. maybe it's just a bug on my end and it's fine for everyone else, either way, I'll do a quick rundown of the build.

Ballistic Blades: Fairly straight forward, you want Cone, Attack Range, and Explosive Blades. No question. What makes BBs such a good ability is its ability to stagger enemies twice, once on impact, and once with Explosive Blades, giving you time to either: throw some IGs, or to kill them with your gun. It also does some decent damage as well, even when you don't necessarily spec for damage.

Blade Armour: I only put 4 points into BA personally (you can put 5 points into it for more shield recharge to be extra cheesy, I'll talk about it later), for the 4th evolution it's no contest: you want that Durability. 30% DR is nothing to scoff at, and more importantly it lets you tank 2 atlas/phantoms and equivalents before it brings down your shields, which is invaluable, and it's something that you don't get when you go 6/0/6/6/6 (at least before the health buffs, I haven't tested it out because I don't have any reset cards).

Inferno Grenades: Frankly I never understood why people people always skipped IG. Throw 2 into a spawn point, use BB and pretty much everything will be dead, except bosses, of course. Either way, you want Damage, Max Capacity, and Radius and Shrapnel. You can go for Damage over Max Capacity, but I prefer having 2 extra grenades honestly.

Passive: Capacity. And it makes your BBs and IG's hit harder. You can go for Weapon damage if you feel like it, but I like having more weight capacity and harder hitting abilities.

Fitness: Fairly straight forward. Take all the health and Shield options. Personally, I don't feel like Melee is a good option on Gold, except for on the vanilla Krogan and probably a few other classes that I don't really play. Once you get to the later rounds on Gold, Melee chances start becoming increasingly less of a reality as more boss units spawn and what not. It just doesn't seem worth it at all on this guy, especially with the amount of carnage you're capable of with this build.

Weapons: I personally use the Reegar X. But I have used the Harrier, Piranha, Graal, GPS, and Talon with success. The major reason I use the Reegar over something like the Piranha is because of the animation bug (or whatever) associated with the Reegar. If you start firing the Reegar, and half way through the clip hit Ballistic Blades, you won't have to go through the Reload animation, but you will have the reload cancel, otherwise you won't be able to fire until you hear the little 'click', which should be easy, especially for Console players as you can hit Ballistic Blades to reload cancel, and for PC players it's easy enough. So essentially this bug lets you get out more Reegar clips into Atlases, in addition you also get the extra damage from Ballistic Blades too. So a win-win situation IMO.

Other stuff: As I said earlier, with a build like 6/5/6/3/6 and Multicapicator gear and Shield Power Cells your shields will be regenerating really damn fast. Add in a Justicar to that and apparently your shields will be regenerating instantly (Can't find the video, it's a old one, though), which is pretty stupid. If you want to be cheesy, this build is for you.

Final Thoughts: So, I guess if you want max DPS, a build like 6/0/6/6/6 is the way to go, if you want more surviability, go 6/4/6/4/6, and if you're looking for something different, go 6/5/6/3/6. Either way, The Batarian Soldier is damn fun to play, the amount of AoE damage you are capable of it insane, Plus Falcon Punching a few things--even when you're not specced for Melee-- is damn entertaining. He is definitely my favourite character in ME3, just because of how goddamn entertaining he is.
