Property development Lawyer

SEC=UNCLASSIFIED

Looking for recommendations on the best property and planning lawyers in/around Canberra.

I’m looking at options of what to do with an inner north, 808m2, RZ3 block of land and wondering if working with a developer to develop it would be something worth my while.

I’d like to talk to a lawyer that knows their stuff and can provide me the best advice of what would be required to do that. Someone that would look after me and help me to work with the developer to get the best outcome for all involved.

I’d also love to hear from others that have done the same.

Thank you

808m2?? you could fit 15 townhouses on that block

That you could. Unfortunately I can’t fund the build on those 15 townhouses, so would like to chat with a lawyer/developer who could fund the build, and see if it is a viable option for me

If you can't fund the build nor build it yourself, and would just be contributing the land to the joint venture, no developer will give you a percentage of the upside from the development.

You're far better off just selling the land to the highest bidder. Fewer headaches and risks for you, as well, plus it sounds like a good block so you'd make good coin for basically doing nothing.

It’s a flat block super close to shops and tram so I’d like to think it would get a decent amount.

It’s likely I will end up just selling the block but thought I’d look at what other options were out there before I commit to that.

Youre better off contacting an architecture firm that has experience with developments in RZ3 or a town planner.

Thanks. I’ll investigate who’s out there.
