Aizen’s Bankai Theory???

Discussion

What is several times more powerful than absolute hypnosis??? Honestly very little…. the only two things that come to mind is 1). He doesn’t have one due to his god complex or 2). His bankai is Mind control through contact, after thinking about the recent chapters of black clover regarding the overwhelming broken powers of Lucius Zogradis’ Soul Magic it would honestly fit perfectly for the bankai of Kyoka Suigetsu

I think his Bankai isn't useful during battle. And we can only guess.

His Shikai controls what others experience by creating illusions in the present

His Bankai allows him see the truth from the past.

He can see what happened 1000 years ago, 2000 years ago, and even further back. Maybe that's one reason why he's so knowledgeable. That could be how he learned Ukitake had the right hand (something Kiskue didn't know) and how he learned about the Soul King.

Also, it would be an interesting coincidence between him and Yhwach. Aizen see's the past while Yhwach see's the future.

Or his Bankai could be like tsukishima’s ability

That's possible but I prefer it to be something a little different.

Maybe his Bankai is like Izanagi from Naruto? The concept is basically applying illusions to reality itself instead of people. It would naturally lead to reality warping so it would have to have some limitations, maybe not affectionate people because that's his Shikai's thing (so he can't make someone turn into a pig, but he can spawn them by making reality think there are pigs).

Here are the factors that play into bankai:

  1. often rhymes with the shikai
  2. often reveals more of one's personal self
  3. is not guaranteed to be a weapon
  4. Much stronger than Shikai but its versatility is not guaranteed.

Aizen never used his bankai meaning that he never had a good reason to use it. If it was something that made his plans easier why not use it instead of intense planning? Perhaps because it couldn't have made too much of a difference. We know from his fight with Ichigo, Aizen really wanted someone to contest to, someone to relate to. with all of these variables I'll say at the very least it can't be mind control. Perhaps something that can help people realize a truth about themselves to become stronger, maybe; we haven't seen many support-based bankais in the series, with the only one coming to mind is Urahara's ironically.

Personally I like the idea that he can go into people's inners worlds and break their zankupatos to his will or just kill them. Not as useful as KS, but potentially super scary.

Personally, I don’t follow the theory that he didn’t have a bankai, because for all of Aizen’s talk about how a soul has only so far that they can advance before they reach a limit, it wouldn’t make sense for him to not attempt to reach his limits and achieve bankai. Unless of course for all of his power bankai was fundamentally beyond him, which would be very odd as well.

I honestly think his Bankai would only be a subtle upgrade to KS.

And I think we saw it without it being spelled out for us.

KS controls the 5 basic senses of those who see its shikai.

Aizen fricked Yhwach's sense of time presumably by simply seing Aizen.

Additionally, while Aizen can control what anyone sees even if KS is sealed, he cannot prevent a person who sees KS from falling under its spell. That is, why Aizen actually never released KS while fighting the captains. He didn't have to and it would've caught Ichigo.

However, EoS Aizen functions differently. He has control about whom he affects, but it seems that KS now even creates images he hasn't deliberately chosen (see where he got molested by Yhwach "so you see Ichigo Kurosaki, interesting.") while Ichigo still isn't affected.

So KS works on a much more controlled basis and is affecting pretty much all perception and seeing Aizen is enough.

Sure that could be a) the Hogyoku's work b) Aizen having no one but KS to converse with for 17 month c) his bankai d) any combination of the previous

I actually believe d) KS was dust when he was sealed. But in those 17months he took a form that has eerie similarity to Dangai Ichigo.

Sure he might've used the hogyoku to mimic that form with his shikai. But I think it might legit be his bankai on a transcendent level like Dangai Ichigo was Ichigo's.

here's the main theories

  1. he doesnt have one because part of having a bankai is having a greater bond between you and your zanpakutou and that's not how aizen rolls, and he used his shikai to trick everyone into thinking he had a bankai
  2. there's a point in the TYBW where ywach states his perception of time was altered while visiting aizen, that could be his bankai
  3. we havent seen it yet because his shikai is more useful, which is very common. Shuhei, Soifon, and shinji are good examples of this
