furkin vs trupanion pet insurance
Based out of Canada.
I have an 11 week old shiba inu puppy. We got him from a breeder so we had a complimentary 30 days of trupanion pet insurance with all waiting periods waived.
I'm now at the point I need to decide to continue with trupanion or switch providers, I'm also considering furkin. Looking for peoples ideas of both (and bonus if you're Canadian!).
Some of the pros to trupanion: -already have it -90% coverage -250$ deductible -my vet can bill directly -no annual limit -deductible depends on illness/issue and not annual (could be a pro or con depending...)
Some disadvantages of trupanion -more expensive -does not cover emergency exam fees -rehab / pet owner assistance is an additional fee
Some pros to furkin -more economical -covers exam fees -similar deductible -pet owner assistance and additional care covered
Some disadvantages of furkin -less coverage (80%) -deductible is annual (pro or con depending on issue) -waiting period -20,000$ cap annual -vet cannot directly bill
Any insight is helpful!
Thanks!
