When was the last time that the number one and two in the world played each other in the six-nations?
Has it ever happened since rankings began even? Were Ireland and France 2 and 1 last year?

Rankings began in 2004 and two 6N teams have not occupied the top two spots in the rankings (during the tournament, perhaps not ever) until now. So it's the first time.
I have a feeling Ireland and Wales were one and two for a out a week each one Autumn
Yeah I remember that but they were not both top 2 at the same time
2019 is going to be the only time it came close with Ireland and Wales both being 1st that year. Before that, and except for a stint by England I think 1st has always been held by the SH.
This is the first time EVER, that Rank number 1 and Rank number 2, have been from the Northern Hemisphere
Nope Ireland took number 1 spot while their NZ tour iirc.
That was after the last 6 nations, so yeah it is the first time.
Testing testing
pass!
I hate this website sometimes
ITV just said it's the first time ever
