Not many PC Games recognize the BT Controller

Tech Support

I tried a couple of games using the BT mode on my stadia Controller and only some recognize it's existence, while others don't. Especially games from GOG do not recognize it, while for example my wired Xbox controller is recognized.

Try using controller mapping software, or just use steam to run every game.

Do you have Steam open while using other launchers? As far as I know, the only way to get the Stadia controller to work over Bluetooth on PC is to use Steam, is it has built in generic controller drivers.

Steam can also cause problems with controllers as well. Make sure steam is closed and then run the game. Most xbox games work fine, but when steam is open and you launch a game from the Xbox app, steam defaults to the steam desktop profile for controllers, which screws up controller mapping.

Best Software to use Stadia Controller is reWASD! best Software for mapping etc. Ever. Give it a try!

Use this: Stadia-ViGEm on GitHub

It emulates your controller as an Xbox 360 Controller, and since most games support Xinput, you will have no issues. Just follow the instructions on the page and you will be fine.

(and a tip from me, if you want it to start up when you boot up your computer, Win + R, type in "shell:startup", and put the program in there, or put a shortcut of the program in there)

Stadia vigem doesn't work with bluetooth for me. Says 0/4 devices.

Did you allow Stadia-ViGEm to bypass the "hide" in HidHide? And did you install ViGEm Bus?

I have the same issues, followed all the steps and it showed up as a x360 controller. But it hasnt come back after a restart and it stays on the 0/4 devices connected. any other trouble shooting?

I had to use rewasd to get it working with Xbox on PC.

Yeah oddly enough the Xbox Cloud Gaming windows app doesn’t see the stadia controller but the web based version of cloud gaming does. Lots to be desired, but I guess we’re supposed to be thankful we got something…

To be fair the Windows app is garbage. A friend couldn't even get her actual official Xbox controller to be recognised, and they tried for like an hour to get it working. Eventually just used Edge lol

Just use x360ce or steam

I dropped $7 on reWASD and haven't looked back. It just works without any fiddling with setup. I tried a bunch of the other options and reWASD was just so much easier. Try the demo out.

I can't get mine to even get noticed on steam. I've already set to force steam input on the game and have the controller settings set to generic. Can't use rewasd cause i'm on mac :/

Bc the driver, like the hardware itself is just trash.
