First time making 100,000+ a year, should I pay additional deductions to avoid owing taxes?

I work in nursing and in January I made over 11,000. All my coworkers make around 100k-140k a year and that’s where I’m heading.

I’m single with 0 exemptions but my coworkers all say even still I will owe a lot of taxes but I’m confused tf why?

They tell me I have to pay additional deductions like 200 per check so I don’t owe. Can someone explain this to me?
