Agree- you can try to improve it with more details, and odds are still high of more inappropriate rejections, So
try anyways, state the obvious clearly, because despite the bad reviewers there are great ones who really do their best, and sometimes what we think is obvious isn’t so much to others
if/when it is rejected again, report BOTH inappropriate rejections. Use help>open chat> skip>select “criteria” and explain that you are reporting the reviewer(s) and provide all of the information requested. Maybe something happens “SOON”
don’t take it personally. You are up against people who are trying to rack up numbers and to some of them, honesty & rules mean nothing. By improving your nomination it just might get through! If not, it will make it all the more clear when you report it that there really is a problem with the reviewer(s) involved
I think we all have stories; you aren’t alone! (I was once told to my face to “go get a photosphere” for something clearly visible in satellite view, that was still rejected x3, and just after another nomination WITH a photosphere was rejected for wrong location). 🙈 It really can be like that- so again, not personal.
Above all have FUN, and even appeals & reports aren’t perfect so keep a light heart & smile!
I appreciate the detailed response for this thank you so much! Hoping to get it through on the next submittal :D
This place had a huge park with plenty of POI. So far I'm 4/6 on submission approval and got 3 stops with 1 gym. Its awesome seeing it build up!! The other rejection I got that I submitted was of park benches/picnic area with permant benches and outside BBQs. Iv seen similar stuff get approved like that but just don't think I did a good enough job highlighting it..
Hey, great work! It’s so cool when it all works out! Such a nice feeling!
Picnic areas have been tricky for me. Usually if they have a sign, they go through. Not always! There’s one that failed x2 that doesn’t have a sign, and sounds like a similar set-up to what you describe - picnic tables, permanent grills, and in this case the official park map has in really big letters “Family Picnic Area” designated. It’s too bad- I think the Pokémon players would really enjoy the lake views while they play, it’s pleasant. What does your area have- any signs, or a map or something? I know picnic tables already say “picnic here,” but, well, some reviewers want a sign, ya know! Is it a large picnic area or just a few tables?
It's a decent sized area with 3 benches and 2 BBQs but no signs that identify it as a picnic area. Each bench is probably about 20-25ft from each other making a triangle kind of. The park itself doesn't have a good street view on Google maps due to it being in a gated community.. one of the rejection reasons was for inaccurate location:/
Ah, if you are able to hurry, it isn’t too late to get photospheres if you have that app, or know someone who does. If that’s not possible, are you able to take a surrounding photo that shows identifiable buildings or something in the background? From your description it sounds like groups might use it- so there might be pictures online of events that you could link to?
ETA: google Street View ends March 21. If you have submits in mind that may need photospheres, do get them asap!
Write a better description and improve your supporting info.
Will do. What details should I specifically highlight for this? Never submitted a bulletin board before but know they normally do get approved.
It’s 1) a place where people do gather- neighbors do this & meet up by the boards to make plans or discuss what’s posted; it is intended to be that place in the neighborhood where this happens 2) promotes activity because they post what activities are going on 3) encourages exploration because people reading will learn about other people, places and events in the area
Kk, 7 pm on V-day. Gotta go, GL with this, it’s a nice one! Don’t give up!
I appealed it way back when it was denied and it just got approved today! Haha
Congrats!
It is hard without knowing what you wrote in the description and supporting info. Considering it got rejected for private, you should explain in the supporting about how private is only for single family houses and this is a public neighborhood info board.
Thanks I appreciate the response! Next submission will be more detailed now.
What I wrote in stop description: Come find out whats going on in the neighborhood! Supporting info was pretty lacking also I'd say but this is what I put: come explore and learn about whats going on in the community.
Make sure to directly say what criteria this meets in the supporting just in case people don't understand. Then you adress the issues people might have and reasons they might reject. Or provide proof of anything you claim in the description. I use this a lot when nominating restaurants or historic structures.
