Is there a best town for night shift living (things open late, super early, or 24h) near Baltimore?

I have a couple of friends considering moving to Maryland and they are looking at jobs in Baltimore. They don't necessarily want to live in the city, but they both work night shift jobs. That means they need a place to live that doesn't shut down at 8PM. Any suggestions as to what towns/cities in the commuting areas are more apt to a [normal] night life?

It has been awhile since I have been there, but I would think the Towson/Timmonium area might be worth looking into.

I live around there and yeah things are open decently late. There’s enough restaurants that close around 10pm or 11pm. Walmart is open until 11. Target until 10. Giant is open until midnight. Not too much is 24 hours other than the McDonalds drive thru tho.

I guess it's better than nothing. Thanks for your insight.

I worked nights for a year. Thank god I had a bar down the street that opened at 8:30am. It was all cops and fire fighters drinking at 9am haha good times

Would you say where you lived was a good place for a night shift person? A place/town to avoid?

I mean it’s pretty far from Bmore

Walmarts aren't even 24 hour anymore in MD.

Can we get that back please?

Any reason they don't want the city itself? There are places within the city limits that aren't downtown and don't feel like "the city" that still might work for them (Hampden, Remington).

I guess I didn't consider that as an option. I'll suggest it as an option. Thanks!

There is no such place, anywhere in the US. Sure you can find some dive bar that is open until 4am or strip clubs that are open late, but is that what you are looking for?

No, I just mean in certain neighborhoods it is only family oriented, so like everything shuts down at 8PM. My friends wake up at 6PM, eat dinner, and then start their 'day.' They currently live in a good part of Fairfax, VA, which has tons of 24h grocery stores, late night restaurants, a library or 2 that is open super late. You know, just different towns have different lifestyles.
