[EVENT] Profiteering Della Guerra

For the past half-decade, Sardinia-Corsica has struggled to balance it's books. Even when it seemed like the country may be able to finally pay off it's debt, pandemic era measures seemed to shatter that hope, as the country shelled out almost 1.7 billion to combat the plague. For the first time in the past half-decade, however Sardinia-Corsica appears set to have a positive budget The reason for this? Profits off of military hardware.

Moral questions do lie at the heart of Sardinia's actions. The Delphic people believe they have a cause to end the suffering of the old world, and learn to live in harmony with nature. As Sardinia's militarization only seems to continue to increase, and it begins to fund it's corner of the Mediterranean with weapons of war, the ruling government has begun to see genuine challenges to it's dominance.

However, the military remains plenty popular in Sardinia, and pandemic era reforms have played well with the country. People may simply forget what they are doing in the rest of the world, when their own continues to improve year after year. For now, at least, as the military and it's favored party sit in the halls of government, the engines of war will continue to churn.
