It arrived 2/13. It’s used but in great condition. The Fishman Fluence Moderns are very clear, the Endure neck design is killer and the fanned TT frets were no trouble to adjust to. I don’t notice either and I’m a 30+ year strat player. One thing is D’Addario makes a custom 7 string set 09-64 and they ain’t cheap!

What a beast ! Congrats ! I always wondered, the TT frets are calibered to standard tuning right ? Have you tried dropping the low B to an A ? If so, does is sound really off or is it playable ? I am asking because I really like the idea of the TT frets but I don’t want to be locked to standard tuning and want to be able to play drop A from time to time.

Great question. With TT frets you have to use True Temperament tuning offsets. 7-string 1st E4= -1 • 2nd B3= -1• 3rd G3= +4 • 4th D3= +2 • 5th A2 = 0 • 6th E2= -2 • 7th B1= -4

I can get there with iStroboSoft app on my iPhone.

It arrived in drop A and I love it! I do believe it’s got D’Addario .95-.64SB or .10-??. I play 09s on my strat and attempted to put a .54 for the low B but it was slinky as hell. I’ll stick with the .64s. They chug nicely.

I want to dial in the intonation a bit more, but I’m waiting on the special SB set I ordered. I find intonating easier with fresh strings.

Let me know if you end up getting rid of it eventually, I'd be interested

Oh thank you, but I’m in love, you see? And we’ll never part. My main axe is a strat I picked up in 2002 and I still play it daily. In fact it’s in the shop getting a true temperament retro-fit neck installed. I have seen this model selling on reverb, though. Good luck.

Are these just like super duper tuned? What’s the difference exactly?

The folks at True Temperament said it best:

“There´s nothing wrong with straight frets per se, but if you want a close to perfect as possible intonated guitar you should of course go for the curved TT-frets!

Here´s an explanation for you: Standard equal tempered fret spacing is calculated from one single piece of information about the instrument – the scale length (the theoretical speaking length of the open strings). A divisor constant is used to determine the locations of the frets. The scale length divided by the constant gives the position of the first fret. The remaining length after subtracting the first fret, divided by the same constant, gives the position of the second fret, and so on. The frequency of a vibrating string is determined by three factors: the speaking length, its mass, and the tension applied. All three of these factors are affected to varying degrees when a string is pressed down on a fret. Along the neck, the length and mass decrease by 50% per octave. Changing the length affects the stiffness. The tension is affected by fretting the string, as the string height is not zero. Pressing the string to the fret stretches the string slightly, increasing the tension and thus sharpening the notes produced. The only way to fully compensate for all these parameters is to adjust each and every string-to-fret contact point on the fingerboard separately, until each and every note plays the target frequency exactly. This, which is impossible on a guitar with traditional, one-piece, straight frets, is exactly what we do with Dynamic Intonation™, and Curved Frets™.”
