Marky Marksman: Turian Soldier Build

This build isn't exactly original, but because of the new change to Marksman (i.e. auto-reload), I've found the class significantly better. Here is my build. Edit: Narida currently down, so mirror of build here.

This is specced specifically for the Hurricane - I would probably build this class differently for other guns. But, the Hurricane is a gun that almost anyone can get, so I think this build is accessible to a wide variety of players. (edit: with the promotional N7 weapons being introduced into the regular UR pool, the Hurricane is no longer easy to get. I recommend any fully auto-weapon, in general, with the Turian Soldier with this build).

Marksman: The Hurricane is not an inherently accurate gun, and you want whatever bonuses you can get for accuracy. Fire rate is great, but some guns in the game (e.g. Harrier. Reegar, Hurricane) fire fast enough by default for taking out non-heavy enemies. Next, I think Duration is actually a detrimental upgrade for Marksman. The cooldown is very fast, and you don't want to be stuck in Marksman mode when you want to be firing Proxy Mines.

Concussive Shot: A few points in Concussive shot is worth it. It's effective for enemies hiding behind cover, or as an anti-barrier power. Concussive shot will get a Phantom to throw up her barrier while doing close to 1000 damage.

Proxy Mines: This is a pretty standard setup, but the key here is the debuff and the stagger. You want radius and debuff.

Turian Veteran: This build is all about weapons damage for the Hurricane, which is one of the highest DPS weapons in the game.

Fitness: Straightforward. Survivability rules for immobile classes like the Turians.

Equipment: If you have the Recoil System V, this build will have zero recoil. If not, you can use other equipment like Stability mods to get it down to zero. Having zero recoil allows you to use the Hurricane at decent ranges. As for other weapons bonuses, you can select as you see fit, but I recommend using your SMG Amps, as most of us have built up a decent stockpile of those. I tend to go with Adrenaline or Cyclonic for the other slot.

Playstyle: The Hurricane is one of the few guns that doesn't require bonuses for it to be effective against most enemies. Without Marksman active, you can take out most enemies very quickly. So, Proxy Mine is the bread and butter of this build. You should be spamming this as frequently as possible to stagger enemies and debuff them. The Hurricane finishes them off.

Marksman is mostly for the bosses, and this is where this build really shines. Without Marksman active, the spread on the Hurricane is still pretty large, and IMO, it's not really worth going for headshots unless you have a favorable angle / enemy. Instead, I unload a whole clip into the body of the boss, use Marksman to reload, and refocus on the head.

Like other things I've posted, it's not my strongest class, but for bosses alone, it's a pretty sick setup. This is one of my stronger overall builds - it combines a great gun with two great powers in Marksman and Proxy Mine, and is pretty tanky to boot. Apologies if this is elementary for some of you, but once I thought of the name Marky Marksman, I felt obligated to post.

edit: The stability bonuses on this class are buggy. I have tested this a fair amount, and it's clear that your recoil can vary. Usually, it is zero recoil, but sometimes, you still get some. I have not discerned a pattern for this, but it definitely is a thing.

edit 2: I've recently revisited this build, since the changes to tech explosions, and I would consider using the Hurricane with Heat Sink, HVB, and Incendiary Ammo. Against more durable lower-tier enemies like Dragoons or Phantoms, you can debuff with a Proxy Mine, fire the Hurricane, and then detonate a fire explosion with another Proxy Mine if you haven't killed them yet. This is very effective against groups of enemies.
