I (20F) don’t know if my fiancé (22M) should have a say in our future house

I’ve been in a two year relationship and it’s long distance, as in, he and I live in a completely different country hours away by plane.

Recently I’ve been looking at purchasing my first home so I can move out of my parents’ home and, in their words, not fall into the rental trap. They don’t want me to pay off someone else’s mortgage. They’ve been helping me with financials and going to home opens with me so I can understand what kinds are better than others and all that jazz.

When my fiancé was over for Christmas, he came along to some home opens and of course all of those houses have been under offer or sold since. It’s definitely a hard market to get into right now, especially as a young person.

The problem is that I have found a house that is almost perfect and I have my eye on it. I know that by the time I have all my financials together, it is likely to be off the market, but a girl can dream lol. I told my fiancé about it and he was upset that I didn’t inform him sooner about this house in particular.

My reasoning is that since he wishes to finish his education and have at least one years worth of experience in his country, I should be able to decide on the house as it’ll be my money and my parents money and it’ll be a minimum of two years before he moves here. In that time, I’ll have renovated the house. His name won’t be anywhere on the documents so I don’t think that I necessarily should have to tell him about every single house that I’ve got my eye on.

I don’t understand his perspective, so any advice would be welcome.
