How to deal with fleeting moments of sadness of not having children? (CF by choice)
Hi all! I am in a long term relationship with a man that I absolutely love and want to spend my life with. We both have the same life goals and wishes. I am 26 almost 27, my partner is 31
We both want to spend our lives traveling, investing that love towards ourselves and each other. I want to be the aunt to the kids my brothers will have. I never want to be pregnant or give birth. I'd rather have a dog (but even then I get commitment issues since I want to travel a lot lol).
I want life to be adventurous, cozy, comfortable, with love. I have never imagined being a mom - in fact it fills me with dread even considering it.
But - every now and then I see families so full of love. I know me and my partner would be amazing parents that would give so much love and raise kids the best we could. I work with kids and adore them.
Fleeting moments of feeling like I could be missing out. They always say "you don't know true love until you've had a child." "You'll want one in your 30s." Etc. Deep down it's not what I want but those moments do pop up sometimes.
Anyone else? How do you process those feelings?
Thank you! ❤️
