Said no to a Rolex AD today….

I’ve been on the waitlist for an black dial explorer for a while, I made an agreement that if I bought my wife’s engagement ring from them (they’re a Jewelery store that’s a Rolex AD) that they had to put me on the list and they agreed.

It’s been around 3 weeks and I got the call this morning they said they had something extremely similar and that I should come in. Got in they sat me down gave me a drink blah blah the whole shi bang. They then pulled out an air king and told me how “uncommon” these are to come in and that I should definitely consider this over the explorer. I kindly told them absolutely fucking not. They got really shitty with me and said things like “well we’re offering this piece to you” trying to guilt trip me into buying this ugly ass watch I don’t want. I’ve got a couple tudors, a sub and a old model date just, this was going to be my first purchase from a Rolex AD and not grey market like I’ve gotten my other Rolexes from. But from the attitude they had when I left I probably won’t even get the explorer now. Oh well. Still better than airking.
