what random thing has helped your dog?

Question

Ours is starting our training walks with a quick jog, even if it's just down the street and back. I run a lot with our pup anyways, but if we're going to do a training walk he's usually so anxious for the first 5-10 minutes of it. Starting our walks with a tiny jog literally seems like it resets him mentally and he can focus on a good walk better without zig zagging and looking around like something is going to get him.

This morning we went to go on a run, and I'm getting over being sick so I quickly realized I'd bitten off more than I could chew, so we ended up just going on a couple mile walk. But even just running to the end of our neighborhood then continuing with our walk he did great. We even walked past a house that has a reactive GSD that always barks like crazy at us and my boy did pretty good!
