USB Storage on Slate AX (GL-AXT1800)

Just started playing with an SSD plugged into the USB port. Formatted as exFat.

I can read it from every device.

Writing to it from my iPad (Files app) throws an error.

Writing to it from my Mac (Finder) throws an error.

Writing to it from FileBrowser Pro on my iPad works perfectly.

Looking at the docs, they recommend NTFS or FAT32, but given Mac and large media files, I'd prefer exFat.

Looks to me this is an SMB problem with MacOS / iOS (because Filebrowser works properly). Anyone else have this issue?
