Why are politicians able to do things like ban books and subjects on education, but we seem to only be allowed to vote on stupid specific stuff that doesn't affect us in any way?

Because in a republic you elect people to represent you and pass laws.

You vote in the people who do that stuff. Voting in a politician isn’t just voting for a name or for their party, it’s also voting for their policies

because in the 20th century, people started thinking "Forget about the tyranny of the state, the government knows how to manage home life better than the people!"

Because the framework of your government determines what you will have referendums on

Just because a Book gets banned or etc,.. doesnt mean that knowledge is unobtainable. Its the year 2023,.. theres so much availability of information, “banning” things is superficial and ineffective.

There’s a difference between government banning something and removing it from a curriculum.

Politicians are able to ban books and subjects on education because they have the power to make laws and pass legislation. The power to make laws is one of the most important powers of any government. This is why politicians are able to make decisions that affect the public in a variety of ways. However, when it comes to voting, citizens are usually only allowed to vote on specific issues that are on the ballot. This is because the issues on the ballot are usually ones that have been carefully considered by the government and are deemed to be important enough to be put to a public vote.

Well first of all candidates knowingly deceive the public into thinking a glorious new way of living exists or can become a reality.. a vote for me and I will end poverty or unemployment etc.. like anything has changed for decades right??!! so they'll reuse old promises but try to add some polish, make themselves more palatable... so why when elected does nothing change as such?? because to govern you must lie, you must keep a clear power devide or else those old peasants will roll up to your gates pitch fork in hand an revolution starts. is a revolution bad??? look into history, revolution causes great change..but if control and methodical progressive changes introduced, a good chance of public stability. who would revolution or change hurt? only those with the most to lose judging history. so keep them guessing, play to their needs and never give them what they want, that way you can do the same thing at next election. how can you represent when power or influence is based on monetary policy? you can't
