Ps3 console disc reader help

Hello, so I bought a new laser for my ps3 because the console's disc reader has a hard time reading games. It takes about 15 minutes for me to get the laser to read the games. After the console read disc it is set for the whole day and it can read any game. When it doesnt work (before waiting 15 minutes) the console tries to read the disc and it makes a clicking sound for 40 seconds and then it makes an eject sound. I heard that this problem has to do with the laser but I just want to make sure 100% so that when I replace the laser it'll work.
