My vehicle was broken into at a friends house

My car was broken into and several items stolen. Old AirPods, a few of my sons birthday gifts including an iPad and my wallet. Car was locked and alarm was set. Called police and filed a report. I have renters insurance, my question is.. does renters insurance cover these items if my car was not parked at my address. And also I need proof of items. How do I file proof of unopened birthday gifts, iPad, and 4 year old AirPods? I can’t pick up my police report until Tuesday so these questions are bothering me until I can file a claim with the police report.
