HELP!!! Aggression issues with my 11 month old female Newfiedoodle!!!

discussion

I have an 11 month old female Newfiedoodle (Newfoundland and Poodle mix) who is currently in her first heat and is just the sweetest dog you could ever see when it’s just me and my roommate and his dog. He has a 10 month old Male Goldendoodle (golden retriever and poodle mix) and they have practically grew up together since he was 5 months and her, 6 months.

Recently, she’s become aggressive with some of our neighbors while there taking walks and people are near the property. It started with her charging a guy with his son, then growling at dogs and/or running them off that she doesn’t like, then she tried attacking a puppy we’re watching for a few days, but what drew the line for me was she also tried to bite me while I was putting her in her kennel after the event with the puppy.

I’ve read a lot on behavioral problems with all of the poodle mix’s but I didn’t think I had to worry about her because she was so sweet and kind and loving and even took up with my roommate after being around him for awhile. But now out of no where, she’s become aggressive with certain people and animals. She has also started uncontrollably pissing everywhere in the house, without giving warnings that she has to go outside. I had her almost all the way potty trained to the point where when she did have an accident, it was maybe once a month and only if it was late at night and I didn’t wake up when she whined or scratched at the door.

After her trying to bite me, I stuck her outside. I talked with my roommate and we both agreed it might be a territorial thing with this being her home and being EXTREMELY protective over me especially.

I’m putting a shock collar on her tomorrow to help reinforce dominance and correct the negative behaviors that have risen the last few weeks with her, because nothing else seems to work except separating her from me in any form (kennel, outside, me going to the bathroom or my room and closing the door) and even that isn’t seeming to work anymore.

Is there something I’m missing here? Is there anything I can do to help correct this behavior? I can’t afford a trainer and I don’t think she’d learn anything anyways because she doesn’t let anyone touch her unless it’s me or someone she trusts (she has HELLA trust issues from her previous owners)

I just don’t understand why her behavior has changed so drastically in just a few weeks max. Someone please help because she is my baby but I will not put up with aggression. In any form.
