Feeling overwhelmed with feeding plan

Nutrition/Water

I adopted my first cat last weekend. I have always had dogs, so everything feels new again because they are so different. I tried to do a lot of research before adopting and since then when it comes to food because I believe a lot of common health issues are associated with the food we give animals. I felt pretty confident in my plan to ditch any dry food and feed only wet.

He was on fancy feast when I adopted him and I slowly transitioned him to Tiki Cat over the course of the last week. He is about 4 pounds right now, so he should need about 250-300 calories per day from all the calculators I have looked at. I'm using Tiki because I researched all the wet food brands and that seemed to be on the cheaper end of the best "high" quality food and came with good recommendations. For Tiki, 4 cans is about 240 calories. I can supplement that with some treats, but that would still be the low end of the range. That costs about $5.60 per day on canned food alone.

I am already getting worried about the cost, and I don't feel like I can back down from doing wet food only or get a cheaper brand after all the research I did that told me how bad it is.

Do you all have any tips for how you afford all wet food diets? I would appreciate the help
