What's it like to have chronic sinusitis?

I'm just wondering what it's like living with chronic sinusitis. I've seen 3 ENT's that didn't help much at all and I've been trying to figure what exactly is wrong with me on my own. I was diagnosed with non allergic rhinitis first, then allergic rhinitis and turbinate hypertrophy.

They tell me there's nothing I can do about my mucus secretions. I use a neti pot after I wake up in the morning and before I go to bed, and every time a huge amount of thick cloudy (clear/white) mucus drips down the back of my throat and I have to hack it up. I guess I'll deal with this for the rest of my life. I have chronic fatigue, cognitive impairment, mouth breathing while I sleep, and if I don't use saline spray every few hours then I can't breathe through my nose. I've tried steroids, astelin, antihistamines, nothing stops the huge accumulation of mucus. It feels like the mucus is coming from my sinuses rather than nasal tissue because it's really difficult to get it out, but the one ENT I asked for a CT scan refused. The other two quickly ran away before I had a chance to ask. My left nostril is also far more symptomatic than my right.

I'm honestly hoping that what I have is chronic sinusitis because I'd absolutely love to undergo a surgery and finally get relief from this hell. It's insane to me that the ENTs I've seen were so incompetent that they weren't even willing to rule out possible diagnoses, just took guesses wanted to jump into surgeries that wouldn't help.

I'm so tired. I haven't slept well in years. The thought of spitting up mucus every few minutes for the rest of my life really brings me down. It's too thick to swallow. I don't think I'll ever give up trying to find a solution even though the ENTs tell me I'm fucked.

Anyway, what's it like to have chronic sinusitis? When you use a neti pot, what comes out? Do you always feel pain in your sinuses or just sometimes? What color is your mucus? How often do you have to clear your mucus out?
