Sky pencil question

Hello - we have a spot between our house and a neighbor’s in which we want to plant something tall for a privacy screen, and we like sky pencil (Japanese holly). But we’re reading conflicting things about needed sunlight. Does anyone have experience growing this? Our spot would probably get only 2-4 hours of sun, depending on the season. TIA
