The uk encorages gaining
Here in the uk being fat isn’t as normalised as it is in America but some things do really seem to encourage gaining. In the uk there is a huge drinking culture to the point where at nearly social event you go to people will be drinking alcohol and alcohol has tons of calories (on average a pint of cider/ beer/ larger has 200 calories). So for example on a night out i drink anywhere from 10-15 pints of larger which would already be 2-3000 calories and on top of that most people when they leave a pub or club go straight to a fast food restaurant and stuff their faces with fattening and greasy food.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this played a huge part in my massive weight gain in the past year.
