Clyde - the AUR helper in Bash

I got tired of AUR helpers trying to act like Pacman or even trying to be a Pacman replacement. I wanted an AUR helper that had the following:

  • No Pacman syntax
  • Not calling Pacman with the exception for removing and installing built packages
  • Doas support (yes I use doas over sudo)

Not finding what I wanted, I decided to write my own. I told one of my friends my plan to make a new AUR helper and he said I should write it in Bash, which I did (I'm not good at Bash, but it's a learning experience).

After a couple of days, I'm happy to annouce my new AUR helper: https://github.com/StandingPadAnimations/clyde

The code is pretty bad and I know very few people will use it (other then my friend, who also didn't like any AUR helper for simillar reasons, and I), but the point was to make an AUR helper with the features I want, which it does well.

What do y'all think about it?
