Management company neglected to fix intrusive noise for 2 years. Do I have recourse?

I own and reside in a condo in Toronto. For the past 2 years, there has been a loud tapping noise that happens frequently. It was coming from the pipes above my guest washroom. It has interrupted my sleep and quiet. Additionally, I had cancer during this time, and it affected my recovery process to some extent.

My condo management company had not rectified the issue despite several emails to them and the condo board pleading with them to hire a credentialed plumber or engineer. They sent a general handyman once who cut holes in my ceiling (which remained for approx. 1 year) but was unable to resolve the problem.

Finally, last month, after I threatened legal action and wrote several more lengthy emails, they hired an engineer, and the issue was resolved within 2 weeks. (it was some type of heat expansion in the pipes caused when the unit above me showered). Is it worth it for me to try and seek compensation? Or should I just be happy the issue has been resolved.

Any assistance is appreciated.
