7700x and ram speed issue

I bought a 7700x, Gigabyte B650I AORUS ULTRA, and gskill 32gb 6000mhz cl30 ram. I ran OCCT and got memory and CPU errors at 6000mhz (at stock XMP profile), but it works fine if i manually reduce the speed to 5200mhz (the supported max ram speed of the 7700x). However, the motherboard supported ram includes this exact model. Is this normal or is the ram, CPU, or motherboard defective?
