Apex Heirloom Pity with Current Event?

With the current collection event, we get heirloom shards if we purchase all items. I am aware of the 500 pack pity system apex currently has that will guarantee the heirloom once you hit it.

Question is: if I get the heirloom shards from the collection event does this reset my pity? I am currently at around 400 packs so I’m getting close. So if I got the heirlooms from the collection event, do I start at 0 packs again rather than 400?
