Poll for DPS and their preference of what their support should do.

News & Discussion

You are Cassidy at 60% HP on point with your Kiriko.

Enemy Hanzo is contesting point.

Do you want your Kiriko to heal you or try to kill Hanzo?

Cass has just enough health (135) to survive a bodyshot from Hanzo. But nothing will cure a headshot, so kill the Hanzo before he can land one.

Because it is specifically Hanzo...

Suzu and then shoot Hanzo, because you cant heal a 250 damage headshot on a 225 health hero.

I agree Suzu and Dps, but for a different reason. Between the two of you chabces are Hanzo should die within the suzu duration limit. By some miracle he doesnt and still kills cassidy, it is still valuable to trade 1 dps for the other in most situations.

tadziobadzio•

Suzu both y'all then attack the Hanzo.

You win when the enemies die, not when your Cassidy gets healed to 100% and that's you relying on them to hit the shots. You could wasted time healing Cassidy only to have them get headshot+melee insta dead.

Meanwhile Cassidy has a pocket homing missile

Cassidy with 60% health would have 135 HP, meaning it would just barely require 3 storm arrows (0.72 seconds, two shots 130 damage three 195) to kill him. Assuming the Hanzo is both fast and accurate (At hitting body shots) he will not be able to kill the cassidy in 3 arrows (If Suzu is on cooldown, 93.6 healing over 0.72 seconds) requiring 4 shots. If he is hitting headshots with storm arrow healing will not matter killing in two shots (0.48 seconds). If he is hitting headshots with his sufficiently charged bow (~0.36-0.64 seconds) healing will also not matter.

If the Kiriko tries to kill the Hanzo assuming both her and Cassidy land headshots the Hanzo will die immediately. If the Cassidy lands a headshot (and dies) and the kiriko hits two body shots the hanzo will also be killed in around 0.55 seconds (Likely trading 1 for 1). On his own Cassidy can kill Hanzo in 1 headshot and a body shot in around 0.5 seconds (Losing to a perfect storm arrow and regular arrow (At 60% health) but winning to a regular arrow (At full health) or 3 body shot storm arrows). He can also fan the hammer killing in 0.448 seconds which should always win over storm arrows (However is not always reliable and loses to a regular arrow at 60% health.

The answer to this question relies on if the Hanzo decides to use storm arrows or a regular one and if the healing can out pace the rate at which a regular arrow becomes lethal. Simply put there are too many variables, so the answer which most consistently has a net neutral or positive result is the correct one. I personally would prefer the support dps the Hanzo if not to save my life (which in a lot of scenarios when both attack will not be lost) to rather save theirs. There is nothing stopping the Hanzo attempting to trade with my healer so both of us fighting the Hanzo would lead to the least amount of chance of my healer dying. Additionally both players attacking the Hanzo basically guarantees a trade at worst. You could employ a strategy of healing the Cassidy and switching to dps if he dies but this heavily relies on said Cassidy being competent at landing headshots or hitting most bullets from fan the hammer) and could lead to the Hanzo trading with the healer.

Edit: I Should also mention that no matter what you do if Suzu is off cooldown that is almost always the correct answer.

Depends on the rank or confidence of the player. Everything below diamond should go for the heal imo. Unless the Hanzo is bad and you can 1v1 him. Most of my supports would get arrowed to the knee and complain about dps.

you shouldn't rely on them missing only because their rank is low. they could by accident hit a lucky shot, who knows.

3
ShadowStriker53•

Healing accuracy is higher for every rank but at some point it's just not worth it to go for the risky play. Yes I mean that Ana who misses 5 shots in a row on the enemy Hanzo while her dps is standing one-shot bodyshot.

suzu the ground near hanzo so the small boop messes with his aim and he misses the shot on me. Then Kiriko ults, 360 and headshot melee combo's the hanzo. he dies. we both tbag and type sit. its QP

Ludicrousgibbs•

So many people don't know about the boop. It really fucks with people. If you can throw them into a wall they won't be dodging for a sec it can really make getting a headshot easier since you know where they're going to be.

All it takes is one click to heal Cassidy at 60% health so prob do that then dps

dps hanzo. Also cassidy just needs to hit once and throw his grenade to deal with hanzo. If kiriko manages to hit just toss nade ez.

4
INCRE_DIBILIS•

Hanzo can one shot both characters at full health so healing isn't going to matter if you both end up being his play of the game

2
xmnezya_ow:Zenyatta: :Kiriko: :Ana:•

i'd suzu if available, the shoot the hanzo. you shouldn't rely on enemies to miss their shots and since hanzo can oneshot, it's more valuable shooting hanzo over healing cassidy

pachecojose•

I think in this particular scenario you have to assume the absolute worst as kiriko and that is that hanzo will most likely land a headshot in which case you’re better of cleansing and going for the kill as well. This is why they are called support btw because of specific scenarios like this. Can’t do much ”healing” if you’re going against an insta kill hero.

Suzu then shoot hanzo if I have suzu, or depending on the position of my cass (if they have any cover at all) throw a quick heal at cass then dps hanzo but if they’re both standing in the middle with no cover and I didn’t have suzu, I would try to dps hanzo. I think this situation depends on the confidence of the kiriko as well. If you think you have good aim you’ll dps if you know you won’t hit a single shot youll heal

1
Useful_You_8045:Moira: Moira•

She can really do both, but a quick heal or a suzu to then get on him together is probably optimal, I honestly just hold down both primary and secondary at the same time because it heals then throws 2 kunai then goes back to healing automatically.

1
coliquin233•

The correct answer is both: Kiriko has downtime in between her healing which she can spam 2 kunai within without decreasing healing uptime at all

1
so__comical•

There's no option here. Just go guns blazing and destroy him.

1
aforter28:Cassidy: Cassidy•

Suzu Cass and hope he throws his heat-seeking missile while you damage Hanzo as well.

SnowbloodWolf2•

The suzu then shoot option

1
Demonify:Master: Master :Master: Support•

They nerfed her healing time so it’s almost like she can heal and then throw 2 kunai without any down time. Gasp.

1
riptid3OP:Baptiste: Baptiste•

She can throw 1 extra kunai in that time and that's just if you topped him off once. 1 Kunai is the same time that it takes 1 arrow to kill Kiriko.

Meanwhile Cassidy has enough HP to tank a bodyshot. Forcing a headshot or 2 charged bodyshots to kill either of you. Which is the same as if Cassidy was 100% hp.

If you all land 1 headshot, Hanzo and 1 of you die but you win. If you all land 2 body shots, Hanzo dies before he gets his 2nd shot off and you win. Your team also has the option of body blocking the first target to force Hanzo to shoot 3 charged bodyshots to get 1 kill.

If you both just DPS hanzo you will almost certainly trade at worst if not both walk away alive.

1
Demonify:Master: Master :Master: Support•

Yeah your perfect theory is just a theory. Hanzo is contesting point but does he have a healer off point healing, teammates coming back to help? Also in your theory you’re assuming everyone lands shots. How many Kiriko’s and Mcree’s have I seen miss numerous shots? The answer is to many to count.

If you’re that worried about Hanzo headshots maybe the plan is better to stay alive and wait for more teammates.

Hanzo can one shot you so healing is pointless.
