Fuel Door Opening On It's Own

Warranty Item / Recall

I've had my Maverick hybrid for about a year now. Probably 6 months ago I noticed the fuel door would open on it's own. It was occasional at first, but at this point it will usually do it within the first mile of driving.

I know I'm not hitting the release button just based off of where it is relative to my knees when driving. I also occasionally have issues when I try to refuel that it clicks off the pump immediately. I have to feather the pump handle and fuel very slowly to fill the tank.

I know the hybrid has a pressurized tank, but it seems like a pretty high pressure just based on the "whoosh" when I put in the fuel nozzle.

I don't own one so could be wrong, but my friend's Honda did this, there should be an adjustment screw on the cable right next to the lever. Under the trim/carpet. Turn it 1-2 turns one way and test it out.

Both of ours in the family do the same! They are EB's though.
