Oh thank you. That is the kind of answer I was looking for. I forgot to factor in the concept of evolution and mutation rates. And even if we were able to go to new planets, I bet they will be new ~~ceases~~ diseases to consider about.

In theory, it would be easier to heal an individual because you could treat their individual symptoms and target their DNA based off their individual environment but in theory it would be very difficult to rid a population of a disease because they may be so greatly imbedded in the foundation of DNA that the disease is likely to be helpful to certain populations in certain environments so it would be improbable to change a populations' genes and have it benefit everyone. There is lots of evidence that shows that major diseases are often located on high traffic areas of the chromosomes and the defective genes are likely to experience mutations at a much much higher rate making these genes almost irreconcilable.  They will continue to get worse and worse as the animal mates and the DNA splits more and more and, over time, the disease would re emerge or a similar defect will occur in the gene. idk, seems like we have the knowledge to eventually build the tools to do this. The last ~400yrs have been absolutely crazy. Calculus, spectrometry, genetics, chemistry, computers, etc.

It is hard for us to imagine where we will be in a few centuries. They will be able to avoid and cure diseases in ways we literally cannot imagine outside of science-fiction.

like, in essence, can we cure all disease given enough R&amp;D? Or are there diseases that are flat out impossible to cure? e.g. congenital/hereditary disease cured thru gene therapy, nanobots destroying HIV, etc.

In theory, are all disease curable?
