Hair Removal For Minimal Depth Vaginoplasty ?

My surgeon does not recommend or require hair removal for minimal depth and I wanted to ask if anyone has had experience with this? I know there can be some complications with only follicle scraping for full depth, but is it the same for minimal? thank you so much <3

Hair removal wasn't required for mine. At 1 month out I haven't had any regrowth issues.

I had minimal depth and didn’t do any hair removal. I’m about six months after surgery and everything is fine.

I did no hair removal before cosmetic SRS in September 2022. I am just now healed enough to feel like I can go spelunking down there. I've had zero issues. Without a vaginal canal there is no "in" in there. Recovery time was amazingly fast. Very happy with it. i had it done with Dr. Ivan Aguilar in Guadalajara.

I had my consult recently and my surgeon said it wasn't needed but I could now (or after) if I wanted! But definitely pay most attention to your surgeon since their the way they do the surgery plays into the advice they give you.

I've not experienced having it done this yet, but have had similar experience in only requiring minimal hair removal being required. Just where the "dimple" would be is where I was requested to have hair removal. So that's what I've been getting done.

Could always follow up and ask why it's done that way.

I am surprised to hear none at all required. Possibly due to your surgeons methods? I have no idea how it all works so just a thought 😅

My surgeon has said the same, but I'm still going to get as much done as possible before my September date.

I was told I didn’t need it, but I think this was a mistake. If you are super hairy, I would get it. I did have some hair removal pre-op, but it wasn’t quite enough and because they used kind of a posterior scrotal flap I did have some hair growth in the posterior part of my shallow vaginal area. Luckily I had a great electrologist and with some maneuvering we were able to get it all after surgery; however this was not something I recommend to anybody. Had I not had the work I did before or had the canal been deeper I think it could have been really bad. I always tell pretty much everyone to get at least some hair removal with electrolysis before surgery.
