Softest pillow you've ever used?

Title. I have tried out a few firm pillows but just simply cannot get comfortable throughout the night. It's tough because I've got really wide/broad shoulders, and am a side sleeper, so I need something a bit bigger. But comfort has become a huge priority for me and I am truly unable to sleep on firm pillows. Ideally it would cost under $100 but willing to go a bit over that if someone feels truly, truly strongly about their recommendation. Thank you!

Downlite has some very nice 100% down pillows. I have a medium density one and it's very soft but still supportive. I sleep mostly on my side

Wow, a $200 pillow, I think that may be out of my price range but will keep it in mind! Thanks!

I mean. A lot of higher end pillows are going to be in that range. Like the Purple ones (love my harmony. It's not exactly soft though.)

Down is the softest…just make sure it has as low % of feathers. Under 15% feathers is ideal.

Any particular brand you really like?

Personally I don’t like that soft of pillows; Brooklinen and parachute are well liked. Ultimately, there’s not a huge difference as long as it’s a high % down cluster and similar fill weights.

I’m looking for new pillow but I hate anything that isn’t one solid piece

I've struggled with the same problem you describe for years, and have gone through about a dozen pillows in that time. I don't think you'll achieve what you're looking for with a soft pillow. Most of them won't offer enough support for side sleeping and will simply flatten over the course of a night. Quality down pillows, which are the softest as others noted, were literally the worst pillows I've ever tried even though they seemed great when I'd first put my head down.

I would recommend a shredded latex foam pillow with a zippered cover to adjust fill (most have one) because it's adjustable, medium firmness, and won't flatten overnight like other adjustable fill pillows (e.g. memory foam).

However, I will note that I wasn't able to find a pillow that truly worked for me until finally understanding it's the mattress that's the problem.

You should check out the coop home goods pillow. It's an adjustable shredded foam pillow, and they send you an extra half pound bag of the fill so you can add more to it if you need more height. The original is like a medium feel, but since it's shredded it still feels soft but supportive. They also have the eden pillow which I think is supposed to be a bit softer than the original. They have a good return policy too if you end up not enjoying it, and their customer service is really good too.
