Daily/Weekly Pokestop spin limit & spin streak

Can I still get the spin streak if I hit the weekly limit? Even if the game does not award items for spinning will it register that I spun a stop and count it toward the 7-day spin streak?

This is my first time hitting a spin limit... idk if its the daily or weekly limit haha
