Anger is definitely bad. It clouds your judgement almost the same way being drunk eith alcohol can. That's why it's best to not be angry.
There is also the saying "he who makes you angry is your master" that floats around my head like a million times a day whenever I open up reddit.
Even in my religion we see it as something that leads you to evil but anger for the sake of God is always righteous
Hey I’m actually the person he said this to, that anger is the spirit of Satan. The reason he said this was because I made a post about how I’m making a death metal song. He asked me what it’s about, and I told him it’s about my friend who took his own life, and I’m using my music to help express my sadness and anger about the situation (normal human emotions for mourning). But I was told I have a heart of hate simply because I’m angry that I will never see my friend ever again. Pretty wild since I’m using a healthy coping mechanism to deal with it.
I'm a Christian that almost exclusively listens to Death Metal and Black Metal- both genres that are amazing tools for expressing and controlling emotions.
Don't let the opinions of others take your love of music away. People often misunderstand the true power music actually has. It can be one of the most powerful tools at our disposal in conveying emotions in ways other methods cannot.

There is a tribe called the Ilongot that live in the rain forest of The Philippines.
They have this word called Liget this word is used to express the emotions of rage, sorrow and madness (if you can call that an emotion).
You my friend have Liget. Now so long as you control anger then all is well. The emotion itself is not evil but the actions that follow it is. Often times when people are anger the least that could happen is cursing and the worst that could happen is murder. In between that could be violence against others.
Say your wife pisses you off and in the heat of the moment you both divorce. Later you regret it because you ruin your children's lives and your own.
That's why in both religions, it's seen as a gateway of evil. However I will admit my cousin in religion was insensitive to a grieving person however I will let you know right now so it doesn't seem like I'm encouraging it that as a Muslim I despise music cuz music is Satan's way to distract you. I'm only saying this so I'm not sinful as again it might look like I'm encouraging this action. I'm sorry for your loss. Just remember that the deceased wouldn't want their companions to stop their life for because their own life ended.
Sorry for your loss. Music is good way to take out your emotions. I think OP was trying to say you shouldn't be angry becuse you can hurt others and your self easly. When we are angry we don't think rational. I think it was his point. Ofcourse you can't just remove that emotion, so way you are taking it out is healty. I too used to draw thinks just to stop being angry, frustrated, sad. I think he wasn't trying to say you are bad person because of that, just to not let your emotion take control of you. But yes I think he sounded too cold. Hope you will get better and way you are taking your anger out is extraemly healty, becuse you won't hurt anybody nor yourself.
